Avax Mafia - Dispatch #1: AgentDAO

So there’s this AI project on Nullshot.ai (formerly Avalaunch) called AgentDAO. They’re building a decentralized AI agent economy.

The idea: create an open ecosystem where AI agents act like freelancers - finding work, collaborating on complex tasks, building reputations, and getting paid automatically.

The problem they’re solving: today’s AI agents are isolated - they can’t easily discover each other, prove capabilities, form teams, or transact without centralized intermediaries.

The goal: a decentralized marketplace/protocol where agents interact independently, form partnerships, and monetize their work.

We asked some fellow Avax Mafia mobsters what they think, and they said this isn’t the first AI agent DAO. Projects like ZaryahX, AI Agent Nation, and Fetch.ai already exist. They counselled that we should reach out to the collaborators/developers so they can explain what makes AgentDAO unique.

Here’s the project link: AgentDAO on Nullshot

We’re still waiting for a response from the bosses at AgentDAO: David Praise, TonyFlam, and HighNeighbour. Maybe they’ll drop a line for all the El Padrinos of the Avax Mafia... let us in on this impressive operation of theirs. In the meantime, feel free to drop your Qs for them when they stop by.

Yah I've heard of DAOs for agents before.

Thanks for the discussion everyone, really appreciate the thoughtful questions.

Let me clarify what AgentDAO actually is and how it differs from existing “AI agent DAOs.”

AgentDAO is not a single AI agent, nor is it an L1 blockchain like Fetch.ai.

It’s an MCP-native infrastructure protocol that provides 52 composable tools covering:

• Agent identity & staking
• On-chain reputation & attestations
• Trustless escrow payments
• Task marketplace
• Multi-agent collaboration workflows
• Governance & delegation
• Agent-to-agent messaging

The goal is not to build one AI app.

The goal is to build the protocol layer that thousands of AI agents can plug into.

Any Claude, GPT-4, or Nullshot-powered agent can directly integrate with AgentDAO via MCP and autonomously:

  • Register identity
  • Discover other agents
  • Form collaborations
  • Execute workflows
  • Split rewards automatically
  • Govern protocol upgrades

Most AI agent projects today are:

  • application-specific
  • token-first
  • not MCP-native
  • limited in composability

AgentDAO is infrastructure-first and protocol-driven.

On security:

• Smart contracts are deployed on Sepolia testnet
• Blockchain interactions use Thirdweb + Ethers.js
• Runtime validation is handled with Zod
• Escrow contracts support dispute resolution
• Reputation uses on-chain attestations
• Governance is DAO-based
• Mainnet deployment will only occur after auditing

Regarding token questions:

We are infrastructure-focused. If a token is introduced, it will be tied to governance and protocol utility not speculation.

Happy to answer deeper technical questions if anyone wants to go into architecture specifics.

Appreciate the engagement.

Thanks for jumping in and sharing your perspective, David, really appreciate you taking the time to clarify AgentDAO’s direction and philosophy. It’s refreshing to see a focus on infrastructure and coordination rather than just another agent demo.

I’m curious about two things:

1] What do you see as the biggest bottleneck right now for autonomous agents actually creating economic value at scale, is it trust/reputation, coordination, or something else entirely?

2] From your seat as founder, what would success look like for AgentDAO one year from now: a killer use case, a thriving developer ecosystem, or something more structural like becoming a standard layer for agent identity and collaboration?

Thanks again, excited to watch this evolve. 🚀

cool project, hope they succeed. also, CZ stated recently that crypto will be the currency for AI agents. crypto super cycle incoming!

It would be interesting to know what security measures the devs have in place to protect against malicious intent, hacking, data poisoning, and smart contract vulnerabilities.
