I do not count the kilometers I walk however I do take walking very important, sometimes I walk to my working place and also walk back home because it's like a forthy minutes walk on foot and a 13 minutes drive in an averagely fast 50km/hr bus I do this not only because I want to keep fit but because it also helps me get natural air walking by the roadsides till I get home aside from saving me from the cost of transportation.
Most people do not like walking and this is bad for the muscles because they're not being stretched which may make them stiff and painful when stressed on a normal regular day to day activity.
Walking is healthy and I also keep fit by jogging, some of my bosses at work come to work in their car and go home in their cars and sometimes the company requires a trekking exercises from all staffs they find it difficult to walk and in the long process they developed inflammation in their hamstrings because they subject their bodies and legs to unusual activities.
So my main method of keeping fit is by jogging to work, running sometimes when I'm late and climbing the stairs in my company this helps me stay fit and in shape
I don't particularly like walking. Rather I exercise at home. Push ups, pull ups, sit ups, crunches and all. And I have a jump rope too so staying in shape isn't really a problem
Walking is very important. It helps exercise the whole body and keep one in shape. But walking too long distances when one can easily use a car is not advisable. Walking is just a minor exercise for shaping the body. Should one really want to sharpen his/her body, there are other exercises that one can engage in that would give him/her the needed result.
Walking alone doesn't do much unless it's combined wI th other forms of exercises. Regarding the kilometres I walk daily, I can't really tell because the distances I walk daily are short distances. Though I walk to and for in those distances several times in a day
I walk every day and I am never one to count my steps even though I have a few apps like Actifit and Samsung health on my phone.
Looking at the app I average about 7 Km per day and that is just doing normal every day things. It is not surprising as I am always on the go. Walking is key to maintaining some activity and staying in shape.
Exercise is good for the body and it takes about 15 minutes to get your core temperature up before you start to burn calories properly so any exercise should be at least 30 minutes long to be of any use.
