PROFILEQUESTION
Would you buy an already active steemit account with 800+ steem and how much would you pay for it?
How much would you pay for an active steemit account? Soon I will be opening up a fast food takeaway but due to an investor pulling out I need to find the funds to cover his 1/4. How much would you sell your account for if you had 800 steem? I know the market is low at the minute but this should be looked at in a long term sale.

I understand your need to come up with an extra money for your business but I personally think that it isn't the right time to sell a Steemit account.

First of all, the price of Steem is at its lowest. If I'm the buyer, I will be considering the return within the next 3-6 months. With the current price, it's equivalent to USD is around $220. And if i were to reinvest the 800SP into a "bid bot" it would take me 60++ months to earn back the $220.

Although the good thing about the account your about to sell is the fact that it has a good reputation and a number of followers.

But I don't think that it could be the basis of its pricing, still the main consideration will be the earning capacity of the account.

IMHO, a good price would be around $100 - $150.

Why to sell such an account. As you mentioned it is an active account and it must have some reputation which the user might have earned with so much of hard work. 800 SP is also a decent figure. Do not take it that lightly as the same steem price was 8 usd one year ago. So if the current scenario demands you to get some fund and for that reason you are considering this option of selling the account, then I must say I have a better solution for you.

If that account has a reputation of 58+, then better talk to @neoxian bank in steemit who offers loan. He generally gives 80% of the SP. So you can easily get 640 STEEM as loan. The interest is 10% to the total which you can pay weekly in 10 installment. So if you take 640 STEEM as loan then in return you will have to pay 704 STEEM to neoxian bank. So you can power it down and give the the payment weekly. I know it will cost you 10% more but you are getting instant money in bulk too. You are returning in 10 weeks to the lender. So that should do fine for you in my opinion.

I would not want to buy any steemit account right now,i would prefer to develop my own account and i believe as time goes on i would also be able to have 800 steem on my account and even more.....

but assuming i changed my mind and decide to buy that steemit account with 800+ steem then I would be willing to pay the amount which is equivalent to the currrent value of that 800+ steem...so if the current value of one steem is around 0.32$ then i would be willing to pay $0.32*800steem which would be around $256.....it means i would be currently willing to pay 256$ for such steemit account....

I think with 800 plus Steem power. Jus that could be liquidated at around close to 210 bucks at the current market. I checked on steemd that your reputation is 61. The minimal amount to sell is 210 bucks as it can be liquidated at this amount. Then i guess, if it's a newbie who is going to buy your account, if you have given him some guidance on how he or she could earn that extra income and how much per month he or she could aim to make. Since you have around 1278 followers, that is something quite of value in your account. That is not easy to get. You can probably sell it at around 300 bucks to 500 bucks. That is what my willingness of buying your account would be if I was a buyer.

Maybe you could prepare a speech to a potential buyer and just make this really good one where all the key points of why buying your account would be something great. It depends on whether you need cash fast or not. If you need to get cash fast then you could just sell it for around 200 but if you could find a really interested buyer, then you could sell your account for around 300 to 500 bucks. Good luck on your new business venture.

No.

Though if I WERE to, it’d have to be for significantly less than the actual Steem is worth at the moment.

And bear in mind that IF you were looking to get a bargain on the Steem, you’d better be viewing it as a LONG-term investment as it’d take three months to fully power down (that is, assuming the 800+ Steem is in Steem POWER) - during which time, the price COULD decline further. Though IF you’re holding for the long haul, then it could be a decent chance to buy Steem at a fair bargain depenending upon negotiated price...

I probably wouldn't buy it, Sorry! :)

If you are looking for something like a loan in which you can use your Steem Power as collateral I highly suggest you check out @neoxian's Bank

Maybe you two could agree on something that will be both beneficial to the two of you. Good Luck! :)

I wouldn't buy an existing Steem account for any other reason but getting it at a steep discount. Why? Because there would be no guarantee that the previous owner of that account would not start Stolen Account Recovery proceedings within 30 days of handing over the Master key to me and me changing it. And why on Earth would I want to use an account with content posted on it that wasn't created by myself? Any non-pristine account has identity tied to it, anonymous or not, and I would not want it to taint my own identity. The only reason I might to buy an account is getting on the cheap because someone I can trust wanted to liquidate their Steem Power immediately. What I would do is start powering down and begin to transfer the liquid STEEM into another account never having been controlled by anyone else but myself right away.

Well, it would go at the market price.

800*0.32 = 256 USD

However, I do not know anyone who buys Steem accounts, the best solution would be to start a power down and sell Steem.
