I do own a house. The main decision maker was the fact that I wanted to have an investment for the money that I was putting into it.
I have rented in the past and I really regret it because that is three years of money that I was basically throwing away. If i had been putting that money into a mortgage then I would have been able to sell that house for a profit or at least some recovery of my funds.
I want something that I can own and change and invest in and share with my wife. A home can be the most important purchase you make.
My wife and I own a house together mainly because ownership cheaper when you account for the total cost of housing over a long period of time if you live in the same place for a long time (at least 5-8 years). Even taking depreciation into account, renting is clearly more expensive. Secondly, as the owners of our house we get to decide how we live in this house. We have near total power over even renovating the house as long as we don't do anything requiring a change to the original building permit. If we accidentally break something, we don't have to sweat over what the owner will say about it.
No I dont own a house, I know the pain of staying in rented house for a long time and very often I realized that having my own house would be the biggest achievement in my life. In fact I am very keen to own a house 2019, it is my to do list. I am fully determined, working day and night to arrange at least 50000 usd to have decent house, now matter how small is that, but I wanna experience that freedom.
I want to make my life like an ecstasy and that can be possible when I own my house. I have already gone through tremendous restriction and fear factor in staying in rented house and I can better understand than anyone else what is the pain in staying in a rented accommodation and yes that pain has made me to have a dream to own my house and that day will be one the biggest moment of my life.
Dont you see the beauty when I will have a cup of coffee in the morning in my own house, where i can freely express myself, where I can enjoy my freedom of life and where my true authority will express itself which is never possible in a rented accommodation.
I have owned a house for the last 25 years and was the best decision I ever made.
I had been renting up until then and decided i needed to make some money instead of handing it over to someone else.
The first house made a very good profit which enabled me to get a bigger, better house and over the years the value rises. I now own two houses and one is nearly paid off.
Imagine if I had been renting all these years I would have nothing to show for it. Now I have enough to retire one day and not to worry. The properties have gone up in value and there isn't much difference between the rent amount and the mortgage amount.
If you are thinking about it do it and just make it work. After five years you can sell it and move onto something better , but at least start somewhere.
I do not currently own a house, mainly because my girlfriend still studies. It's just cheaper to rent a small 1-bedroom apartment, then it is to pay off a large mortgage.
We are planning to look into buying a house in the next couple of years, but that's only when we're both working full time.
I do not own a house for now but i would love to have my own house someday, the reason why i do not own a house is because i do not have enough money to buy house but i know that when i have a very stable source of income then i will be able to buy my own house too..
I definitely do not own a house however I would love to own one really, it's very difficult to own a landed property in Nigeria which can enable you build a house in Nigeria, because we practice a capitalist democracy which places landed property in the hands of individuals which horde the prices and make it difficult for individuals to buy landed property which you can build house with.
I live in rented apartment
