What will be your best advice to a rape patience?
Rape is a sexual abuse. It means forcing one into sexual act out side his or her will, it is done against one's consent. My advice for a rape patient is, firstly, run to a clinic or hospital, to seek medical attention/ recieve treatment incase there are injuries sustained or have contacted any infection . This will prevent further regrets. Secondly, having gone through medical assistance, and it is certified that the patient is Okay, then the patient should go to a guidance and councellor who will be able to give the right counselling he or she needs at that time, this can be morally, emotionally or spiritually based, which will go a long way to heal the emotional injury that has been sustained via the incident. Thirdly, if it is possible to investigate to bring the culprit to book for prosecution, that should be done and will be good, but in the absence of that, the victim should trust God for such incident not to repeat it self by living a more careful and prayerful life , so as not to fall victim again and avoid any self inflcted sorrow, depression and regrets which will actually make no difference.
The right to live with respect is included in the right to life, which ensures the Constitution of India for every citizen. In order to protect the natural dignity of human beings and to protect women from any type of violence, the Conference on the Declaration of All International Violations and Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and all forms of violence against women (CEDAW) Has made a part of it. Apart from this, the fundamental principle of UN justice for the victims of crime and abuse of power, 1985 assumes the need for prompt action, indemnity, and assistance service of victims and their complaint through the criminal justice system.
Rape is the most violent law against women, which not only destroys their physical integrity but also affects their life and livelihood by interrupting the ability of their development of personal and social relations. The victim of rape has to undergo psychological and psychological panic, which requires a deep action so that the woman can lead a dignified and meaningful life.
Where it is necessary to punish criminals who commit such heinous crime, the victim woman needs help in living with dignity and confidence. This is the protective justice that should be the basis for the justice of the women who suffer such incidents and to provide counseling, shelter, medical and legal aid along with financial compensation. In view of the pain, suffering, and suffering caused by the victim woman during pregnancy and due to shock and rape, keeping in mind the expenses incurred and all these expenses, in the written plea of Delhi Domestic Worker Women Forum vs. Union of India and others, Honorable Supreme Court National Directed the Commission to launch such a scheme to eliminate the problems of rape victims. In this matter, the Supreme Court expressed the view that the formation of a criminal shock compensation board becomes necessary in the context of the Nisha-directive principles contained in section 38 (1) of the Constitution because the victim woman also suffered the severe financial loss in addition to mental paraphernalia. And in some cases, they are so shocked that they can not continue their jobs.
My best advice to the victim would be to talk to someone. Never keep it bottled inside or it will implode someday.
Also, never blame yourself as it wasn't your fault for any reason.
If you can, try to put the ugly incident behind you and relearn to live and love life once again. It will get better when you take it one day at a time; it always does.
I'd advice the person to seek help. Rape can be a traumatic experience and is not something that one should handle alone.
I'd also the person to heal. What happened has happened and in order to make the best of life, he or she has to put the pain behind and move on.
