It is one thing to learn, it is another to practice what you learn and it's another to try new methods from what you learn.
The only way one can improve is by constantly trying out new ways to get things done from that which he or she has learned. Trying out just one way of doing a thing can only help improve a person on that one aspect which he or she already knows , but then trying out new things open one to new knowledge of what he or she was not aware of.
A philosopher once said " the best way to improve is to do one thing you fear everyday'" so taking a risk is part of improving, as one fail he realized it can't work on that account, he or she tries another until he realize one that works. This constant trial and error improves one experimental learning.
