It was totally different than it is right now. I heard about Steem from a friend who told me about the cryptocurrency and the platform also. About the platform he told me that is something on which you can write about what you feel like and earn Steem. I didn't even thought of it as a blogging platform. I was thinking more of a social media platform at that time rather than a blogging one. Then I got my account, wrote my introductory post and started browsing and got to the trending page.
That's where I got the most wrong impression. I saw so many posts having hundreds of dollars in upvotes and thought that this is the real deal and believed that they were the successful users. I didn't knew about bid bots at that time so I started posting and I got to write about three-four articles a day, but I didn't get too much upvotes and I got frustrated. I thought that it was something wrong with me so I read blog posts about how to be successful on Steemit and I found that you must comment on other posts in order to get exposure and to attrcat whales to follow you and upvote you and that's what I did.
On the road I found about bid bots and even used them for a few posts with small biding values and at the same time I realized that posts that had tens and hundreds of dollars in upvotes were actually boosted by bid bots and the curation for them was not organically. That's when I decided to create my own network and grow my account with the users that like my content. I said that I DON#T WANT to pay bid bots and that's what I did. Gradually people started to follow me and upvotes came also.
Now I have a totally point of view about Steem comparing it with the one I had at the beginning. For me Steem right now is not only Steemit and a blogging platform. It is the blockchain of DApps and the blockchain of opportunities. The opportunity to blog, the opportunity to meet new people and have genuine interactions with them, the opportunity to learn more about blockchain and earn Steem tokens and the opportunity to be active on a social media platform that has a really bright and sustainable future and one platform that is really contributing that is musing-io on which I am active everyday for hours.
I like Steem, I am a bit addicted to it, I talk about Steem as often as I can and for me Steem is somehow a way of life. The impression that I have regarding Steem right now is totally different from my first impression. My first impression was a bit childish, was influenced by appearances rather than reality and luckily it was pretty was ruined and changed with a more sustainable and pleasant one. I am glad to be part and active on Steem and hope to be able to do that for years.
Happy to be able to answer such a question and hope you will find my answer insightful or at least worthy to read. Have a great day!
I first heard about steemit from a friend of my who was passing through where I live with his family. He had been on it for 6 months and was so enthusiastic about it and the potential it had to help those who wish to make an income whilst traveling. He also talked a lot about the crypto side of things, but that kind of went over my head, but the one thing that stuck out for me was the sense of community that he experienced whilst being on there. He has received a lot of support from people when he was going through a real tough time in his life, that resulted in him and his family living their home country.
This really impressed me as i am a big believer in community and the power we have when we come together. He explained how people from all over the world were rallied together to help him and I got excited about the potential that this online global community could have. One year on and I am a part of some amazing communities on steemit, communities that really speak to me and advocate the responsibility we have towards ourselves, one another and the environment. I really enjoy connecting with so many similar people, sharing ideas, inspiring one another. My first impression was one of awe really, it felt like this was the beginning of something really great and I wanted to get involved and I am so glad I did, I certainly have not been disappointed. I feel so much hope because of the people I interact with on here. Steem on for sure xxx
When a friend of mine @themanualbot, introduced Steemit to me his explanation was pretty simple that made me hooked - blogging site that lets you earn.
Having been in some sites focus on content writing and earning from it (the best earning site was bubblews), I immediately signed up. It took a week before my account was approved (Thanks because this is now solved under discounted account creation). Then my Steemit journey started.
As I wandered the platform, I learned a lot and earn a little at first. I asked a lot of questions to @themanualbot which he responded diligently. I wonder how will Steemit Inc. earns from this kind of platform having advertisement-free site. So, I was thinking Steemit is a scam at first. But with continuous explanation about Steemit's Steem and about Blockchain technology, I have talen the grasp of its economy.
So my blogging website expression was changed into a bit mote technical one. I researched more about how the rewards work and terms that only Steemit uses finding its meaning. There, slowly by slowly I realized that this is different. From a simple blogging earning site, to a scam site, then turning into a platform focused on incentivizing our social media works, economics, and a network of peers interconnecting each other. The best thing about it is that its application to cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology.
At first sight the word that comes to my mind after getting into steem is "Ponzy SCheme" like every other ICO or BLockchain apps. I really didn't expected that one day I will be holding on this platform. I hated facebook because of ads and non-sense recommendations. I was exploring other social sites like tsu (sadly discontinued, rewarding system), pepper blogs (sadly discontinued), and many new comers. At steemit the first look was no that impressive as there was no simpler guidelines for new user. I learned about cryptos, made some awesome friends around world, did a lot of funnier think that I was thinking of, I am enjoying steem BC though there is some time before steem gets on top gear. But I love this platform. I got a million members family what else I can expect.
In all honesty, I was very skeptical about Steem back then. I thought that Steem is just another crypto scam and is just trying to leech off Bitcoin's popularity by adding a too-good-to-be-true Freemium service that rewards it's users just by posting/commenting and/or upvoting contents.
I mean someone who has little-to-no-knowledge on how blockchain and crypto works will also be skeptical about this platform too. I often ask myself as to Where's the money coming from? Is this a scam? Is this even legal?
And that's why the very first thing I did after earning my first liquid 3SBD was cash it all out, try to convert it to real money first to see how true it is. 30-45minutes after I've received a text message as to how I can now get the money. It was damn legit! And the rest is history! XD
I had no idea what this place was. It was like opening a door and you just don't know what is behind it and how it will turn out.
I was clueless and wet behind the ears. I looked and tried to understand what was going on. I still didn't get the concept that you could earn from blogging.
having no expectations I think really helped me as I saw a 5 c as a bonus. I never had visions of $ signs. I knew it was going to be a slog after my first post and decided then to give this place a chance. This was going to be a challenge and one i didn't know if I could do or not.
The only votes I was getting on my posts were mine and those were desperate times. This made me more focused and knew I was going to win. I had to break down doors and become more active.
Once I realised that some users had been on here for over a year and were doing rather well i knew it was just a matter of time. Time is what is needed and that is all it is. patience and engaging is the whole secret of Steemit and nothing else.
It took me around 3 months to show any signs of growth and I am glad I stuck it out.
This is true story and I’m gonna start from right before I heard about Steemit January 2018 that’s the beginning of the new year. Cause without the story before the news of Steemit , my first impression wouldn’t be understood well enough.
Some years ago I was just me and a young man trying to choose a career. But lately I discovered something spectacular. When I was very young and all through my teenage life , I’ve always felt big momentum building up inside of me and waiting to explode. I could feel it inside the least of my internal organs and cells in my body but I never knew what it was or gonna be. I engaged in so many activities trying to investigate and discover the momentum building on the inside but all along I’ve been looking to the wrong direction
Over the time, after my discovery of the natural force of music had captured my System and soul. I reached a conclusion of studying music. Not because I want to go learn a talent, not because I can’t do it without it but I think I need to master what I’ve got on the inside to be among the best in what I do. I want to study music to be one of the best musicians my generation could ever produce but Steemit changed it all.
I observed and it has been proven to me that steemit is a community created and based on love. Then I realized this is the platform for me to showcase myself and build my own fan base. The first Time I heard about steemit and knew how it works , I was assured that Steem is the future my future. Steemit was the best news of the year 2018 for me and I’m sure for many others like me
My first impression about Steemit from the start is "its too good to be true". Hmm, I don't believe it beforehand that we can make money just by blogging and interacting with other members in the Steem network.
But in reality, I am still in the world of Steem, and I really can start making big money. So, steemit is a blessing and a miracle for me personally. I even began to be able to repay my debts in the past.
I thought it was too good to be true and it is. It only took me three days to realize what I needed to know to see the harsh reality of the platform. I came for the money but stayed for the community. There's just some stuff I learned to love beyond earning some coins from engaging in the platform.
when I first came here the front page was full of memes, all upvoted at 200 $ or more so naturally I thought... nice! This place is a gold mine!
So I posted memes and shit but no money for poor @trumpman :(
Soon after I discovered you either have to be a whale or invest time if you want to make big bucks here. And I went with the latter!
First I came to steemit thank to my brother, than I learnt what is the blockchain and steem and how does that work. Honestly it was so hard and painful to learn the difference between steem steem power sbd and how all the system works. By time I started to blog and learn more about it. Started with different steepshop images, now on I am learning the dapps. I love all the apps like @steemhunt @tasteem now I think @musing will be also my favorite place to increase my knowledge :)
I have been working on steemit from 4 months. When i have heared about steemit. I was not beleived that we can earn in this platform. But i have signed up for this. After 21 days i have received my password and start working on steemit. But at this time i was also not beleived on earning.
After receiving password i have start commenting on the others post i got very shocked i have earn 1 usd at my first day of joining steemit. Then time was passing and i was earning 1 USD/day. It was not enough for me. I have trying hard to get more vote. And than i got @nathanmars who give me vote of $4.5 and this was my first big vote.
After that i have try to get more. And start working hard on dtube and other plattform.
Finally i got steemhunt.com and musing.io which provides me a great way to get something big.
There was a lot of confusion. That time, I hadn't really known about this platform well. I din have any understanding of any cryptos at all. I have heard earlier that there were some full time steemians who doesn't work and just rely on the steem platform.
I din really know what changes has it made since it was created two years ago. The login was cool. Well, the first time I logged in and saw those trending post where those who just took photos earned tons of cash from up votes. I was not sure how they did it.
Then the questions was, if I earned cash from. This platform how was I able to cash it out and what's those Steem power.
I first knew about Steemit through a random site that I actually forgot already what it was exactly. I was searching for sites in which I can earn when I stumbled upon the platform.
I was aware and had experiences already on paid to blog sites so, I got interested in Steemit. Although I was confused on how the site pays as I was not familiar with Steen and SBD.
I already knew about cryptocurrencies that time but only familiar with BTC, LTC and Doge coin. So my first impression of Steemit was that it seemed to be a scam site. Specially when I browsed the platform and saw some very simple posts or even those high quality posts with hundreds of upvotes.
I was like, it was too good to be true and if it is like that, it is probably a scam for me. But since it is just free to create an account, I signed up.
Then I started to post whatever that I wanted and experienced just a cent to almost nothing upvote. What I did was browse more posts to learn more about the site like how to get upvotes and how Steem can be converted to fiat.
Then when I already have some SBD, I tried to withdraw it to test its being legit. When I find out that it is legit, I continued posting and learning about the platform.
It sounded like a gay porn site so I was scepticle
My first impression when my friend told me about it is "this is too good to be true and they will probably as me to invest some money later."
Since I was not totally new to the idea of blogging and monetizing it. And I have a bit of an idea of cryptocurrency and bitcoin. I can relate when friend said "you just need to write about your interest and earn a 'bitcoin-related' coin."
I was more interested when he showed me the trending page. I could not understand how someone was earning close to $500 (as interpreted the rewards on post then). To me the contents and writing styles of most of those posts on trending page did not worth one tenth of the rewards they were getting. (I know better now)
It was at a time when a Ponzi scheme took away a lot of people's money. I said to myself "I will try this but will take off once they ask me for money".
I listen about steem.I can't believe this.Because its totally different. You commenting others posts.Give you upvote. You earn money. One day i watch video on YouTube. One guy telling about the steemit. He telling a ful story of steemit.Me watching his ful video. He give a prof his video. He earn many money on steemit. He earn 10,000 only 15 days. And i decided to create a account on sttemit.and i m so excited to Hows earn money on internet.because its my first experience.Steemit account will be approved with 20 to 25 days.Thats so long period.I am for approving my account.and My account will be approved in 20 day.
Now i m so excited.Open the steemit its totally new for me.Because i m new user.I see many posts on steemit.and peoples earm many money in one post.I am totally confused.I m decited to comment someone post.I commented on velimir post. His post is motorcycle travel series. He is best photographer on sttemit. His travel series is very fomous on steemit. Some time latter Velimir upvote my comment.I see his upvote and i m so hapoy and excited. And i believe steemit is real earning platform. Now i work on steemit and steemit hunt.Best platforms.Steemit bear my expanssive. You widdraw your money in seven days. And you also upvote others comments.Steem power is more important.Otherwise you vote is not valuable. And resourss cradit is also very important on steemit.Grear Question. Have a sweet dreams.Tc dear.
Before my cousin @maduprecious introduced me to steemit, I was really hoping to get a blogging site that I could earn from. I remember googling "sites" I could learn new things and also monetize my skills, but when I go through the reviews of those sites I came across, it's either the were scam or it could take a longer time or process to start earning from them. Steemit changed everything because I didn't spend a dime to create my an account neither did I find it difficult to make use of the tools provided for posting. The earning on my first post really wowed me because it was two times my salary. Steemit gave me a sense of Independence I have always craved for, it also motivated me to work more on my writing skills which I must confess has improved.
I would say this platform is the best gift I have received this year. A gift to be self independent and harness ones talent is a precious gift one can ever give and I am glad to be part of this great community of intellectuals.
I thought it was a damn pyramid scam. It still may be but I am making money so I don't care. I am in the green so if it falls in on its self I am fine.
I had no knowledge of crypto at the time and I thought it was to good to be true. I tought myself how it all worked and I love it now.
