I think that hypnotism as most of us think of it is fake. The over the top antics that many of us see on television or in the movies is probably not an accurate description of what an actual hypnotist can do or does on a daily basis.
I think that most hypnotists simply help you get to a mindful meditative state and then gently use the power of suggestion to help you cope with and overcome the issues that are troubling you.
It is unfortunate that the hollywood version of hypnosis has ruined it for so many people that it could be helpful for. I think many people are afraid to try it because they have that misconception about what it actually is and what it actually does.
Hypnotism is a hallucination. The vast majority don't fall for a swinging pendulum or protest. In any case, if the individual has had a horrendous ordeal or is persuaded about something they can be hynotised easily, A real example of hypnotism is whispering in somebody's ears while they are resting and they may dream about the thing you are letting them know...for example a magic show is really a case of hypnotising the group of onlookers into 'not seeing' through the trick used. Making somebody fanatical over you or something really comes with a hypnosis effect. Except if you are a fraudster like a spiritualist and great at it, hypnotism is actually a lie in my own opinion.
A few religions utilize mantra and endeavor enchantment to spellbind somebody into thinking something.
I believe in it and it works. I have seen it first hand when a friend of mine used it to stop smoking.
Hypnotism is a state of focused attention and intense concentration. Whilst you are in a trance like state your therapist will make suggestions so you can achieve your goal.
Hypnotherapy may place seeds of thought in your mind and may take root and prosper subconsciously. The area of your brain that’s responsible for your actions and the area that is aware of those actions somehow appear to be disconnected during hypnosis.
It is true it doesn't work on everybody and it can take more than one session to get the desired result.
Hypnosis is used a s a tool mainly to help with insomnia, pain management and depression.
No, I totally trust in it!
Hypnotism is reaching your unconsious mind, and instructing it to take specific things into account, such as, not wanting to eat all the time, or not to need cigarettes.
Hypnotism is something that is real. But it is not something that can be used to make you do something you do not want.
I have been hypnostises twice, and so I can say that hypnotism is real! It is essentailly opening up your subconcious mind to suggestions. When I got hypnotised I was up onfront of 300 people dancing and singing, and it was like no one was watching - I was in full control, but just went along with the suggestions of the hypnotist. Can everyone be hypnotised? Absolutely not! If you go into a hypnosis session with the impression 'this isnt going to work on me', and fight it then yes it probably wont work.
ALot of us go into a trance state on a daily basis (which is similar to hypnosis) - the classic example is when you are driving and you end up at work, and dont even realise how you got there - its like the car drove itself!
I also think that SOME of the power of hypnosis (stage hypnosis) its the societal pressure - especially if you are halfway through a show, there is a type of pressure to continue with the show and go along with whats going on.
There is also hypnotherapy which is another idea completly and is used to help people quite smoking, drinking etc. As with with most things you cant just fix it by going along and listening - you also have to make some concious changes - the hyposis will simply make these changes a bit easier as they are implanted in your subconcious mind.
Yes, I think it is very fake. I do think that some people have a weak enough mind that they think it is real then convince themselves to do what is suggested. I do not think anyone has the power to walk in somehwere and make someone think they are a chicken or something like that.
Most people think hypnosis is some kind of trick. Religion calls it sinful. Science has questioned its very existence
Hypnotism works, for a given estimation of "work".
The issue about hypnotism isn't simply the hypnotism itself , however the lavish and frequently deceitful cases made for it's sake. In the event that you are sensible about your desires, and understand that it's a tool, not a fix, at that point it tends to be exceptionally compelling.
Hypnotism is real. Some are more suggestible than others. Brainwashing is also real but different from hypnosis.
