Do you think that the use of marijuana on an extended period of time will affect someone's mental health?

When I see so many people clamouring for the legalization of marijuana, sometimes I laugh. Not everyone can withstand smoking marijuana. Marijuana contains several dangerous chemicals that affect ones health over time. The lungs and brains get affected the most when someone smokes marijuana for a long period of time.

Those whose body can't adjust quickly to the effect of marijuana quickly suffer mental difficulties. I've seen this with my eyes, so I understand what I'm talking about. Not everyone can withstand marijuana, the negative impact of marijuana in a person's life are more than the good so it's better we stay off it

In some people, cannabis use increases the risk of developing mental illness, such as psychosis or schizophrenia, especially in those who:

  • start using cannabis at a young age
  • consume cannabis frequently (daily or almost daily)
  • have a personal or family history of psychosis and / or schizophrenia

Frequent cannabis use is also associated with an increased risk of:

  • suicide
  • depression
  • anxiety disorders
