The origins of pasta alla carbonara date back to World War II when American troops fought in Italy.
During the war the Italian people suffered from hunger but with the arrival of the allies the situation changed.
It is thanks to the intersection between the American food supplies and the Italian culinary culture that the carbonara was born.
