If I run out of ideas, I would usually just have some time off to read some books, watch a movie and maybe just go for a jog. Sometimes, I guess the reason why we can't think of ideas is the overuse of our mind to constantly come up with new ideas and new ways to do something. Reading is a great way to boost the idea lab in our brain. The more we read, the more ideas we have.
Chat it out with someone. Usually this helps as there are more ideas generated this way. It is where two heads are better than one. One thing is not to sit down and try to generate ideas. I've worked in offices where I have to sit there in a cubicle for 8 hours a day and my ideas reduced because when your working for someone for a nine to five job, your ideas are usually restricted and you always have to follow and obey what others want of you. It will slowly reduce your idea and creativity.
Do some wacky and out of the box stuff. Do those crazy but harmless stuff. Play some games. Although it seems very childish to play games, but playing games help us to boost our creative juice in our mind. There are many games where you've got to think of the different ways to go through a level which can sometimes be hard. I've beaten some far cry games and tomb raider games, and some of the puzzles got me thinking for hours to just get through those puzzles. I try usually not to look at any cheats or guides so it can make my brain burn. Sometimes I also sit there thinking and dreaming of the future. I think if you do this often, you brain sometimes drift into this world where your a superhero and flying around this magical land. That's how I get my creative juices flowing. I just keep practicing writing and most importantly, enjoy life.
Well well, whenever i run out of ideas on what to post or write on or whenever i experience my writers block as we writers call it, i take some time off. I try to chill out, calm my nerves, feed my brain by surfing the net, reading writeups by others, articles, stories etc just to rejuvenate and kickstart my brain to bring out fresh ideas on what to write and post.
Oftentimes i realize that when i read other people's posts i get ideas on the next topic to write on. This is because nobody is an island of knowledge and most often as writers we run out of individual ideas and when we read what others have written we get insight into new topics and new ideas are born. That is why what i do mostly whenever i experience my writers block is to read extensively on what others have written and catch fun in the process just to cool my head. Afterwards I'll pick up my gadget again and what to write would just come naturally.
That's my little writing secret.
I relax, take a deep breath and look at the World around me. Sometimes, we go too far looking for what is right infront of us. There are times i have came up with great posts by just taking a deep breath and looking at the world around me. Nature, and the beauty of the environment, news on all what is going on around me.
Also, I just think and focus on my passions in life. An easy way to come up with a post is thinking about those things that make you so happy and asking yourself questions related to that particular thing. Answering such questions usually end up bringing up very good inspirational/motivational posts for me.
Lastly, when i am out of ideas for a post at a particular day, I carry on with my day and at the end of the day something always comes up. It might be an event i encountered, how i spent my day, or something that happened in the course of the day that usually makes my ulog posts.
Provide an umbrella before it rains. Yes, we should have thought that "We will run out of ideas to post". So, the right question is what do we do before we run out of ideas? ha ha ha
I myself have usually made a concept note from a big theme, for example Education, there I have made a list of topics that will be discussed along with fundamental questions. So, So, Ammunition Post (draft) is the answer to dealing with conditions before we run out of ideas.
Meanwhile, if the draft or ammunition post does not exist, then I often refresh myself by looking for inspirational quotes or the latest news. From the inspirational quotes, I developed it into a post.
Musing.io as an answer to running out of ideas to post. So, during this one week, I have focused on musing.io, especially on writing answers. So, in terms of posting, I no longer have to think about it. My heavy duty is to read articles, books, journals, opinions, and share life experiences to write answers to questions in musing.io
I highly recommend, musing.io when you run out of posting ideas.
That actually happens quite a lot. Here is one thing that you can do to, bring up more ideas, and that's 'reading'.
The more you read, the more you will come across new things.
Now, research on these new things to understand them, that's it. You will get plenty of material to write about.
It's simple. Isn't it?
if I run out of ideas for posting in steemit, I usually read books, and watch. Because of my basic photography, I always watch videos looking for ideas about photography. And looking for objects for me to photograph.
When I am out of ideas and lack what to post. I simply watch a movie or read books, by doing so, I can have an inspiration on what exactly to post about.
If I run out of ideas what to post...I stop posting. I do something different or nothing. Usually the ideas come back.
If you run out of ideas, it is a sign from your body that you need to take some time off and have a rest. Listen to your body when it says give yourself a break because you need revitalization. I am saying this because pushing yourself would affect your creativity, and will end up half-baked. Besides, it's difficult to compose if you push yourself to write.
