I think from my view is to not look at whether we get those upvotes or not. Just let it flow naturally. Just keep doing it even if it doesn't get something. What we basically get from. This experience is the ability to answer questions at a super duper rapid speed. It would be something helpful in life which becomes part of our skill.
Not getting any upvotes or likes is something of a skill too. That is the way of getting successful In life. In life we would meet many situations like that. Sometimes, we post pics on Instagram or even Facebook with no likes at all, then we go to the gym for months for weeks and months with no result. But it doesn't mean we have failed. It just means that we should still just carry on and do it.
Just keep it up and don't feel discouraged from doing it. You shall harvest fruits of the seeds you sow in the past. The past is today and the future is maybe ten years from today and it's the day you get what you deserve. If you really feel sad or anything, just take a break off from answering questions and return days later. Sometimes I do that. It is to take some time off and do something important. I guess at this moment also musing team has a harder time as there are more and more answers and everyone is waiting for an upvote. Even me included. Hahha.. Have a great day. Weekend is coming.
The curation guidelines does not state it will upvote for your effort. If the answer is within the guidelines and addressing properly to a question then most likely they will curate it and you will get an upvote. But please note that even if it matches the curation guideline then also it does not guarantee you an upvote. However you are more likely to get an upvote from them if the answer is good enough.
You are putting all effort to make your answer look good. But are all the efforts translating in to a good answer ? That is a question mark you should ask. Read it 10 times, I think you will evaluate something new every time you read that subject. So if you have that skill of transforming your effort in to a good answer which should be properly addressing a question, then in 95% of the cases, you will get an upvote from musing to the best of my experience & understanding.
I also think that if a user is too much focused on how to get an upvote while answering a question, then it may not position very well for a user, because the mind set is preoccupied with an intention to get an upvote. Having an expectation is not that bad either, but if you make it the primary objective then you may not be at the best of your business while answering a question. So at least in your day's activity in the musing platform, let's keep aside that reward part and at the end of the day only think about what you get Vs what you expected. In case you feel that musing is not paying attention to your answer for quite some time, you can clarify that from their discord channel.
Sincerely It could be discouraging at times especially after dedicating alot of time and effort to give a very well informative answer to a question..
what could be more discouraging is not the issue of getting upvotes from musing, but the actual thing that could be more discouraging is when the person that asked the question is not even bothered about all the answers written to their question simply because they only asked questions as a way of spamming for upvotes and that is not the kind of things that should be allowed on this platform.....
well i ensure that i do not get discouraged even if some of my answers do not get upvoted despite all my efforts to write those answers...
I won't be hypocrite, and just be honest, there are times when I get frustrated. Imagine answering 10 questions, and I didn't receive even a single upvote while looking at their list of curated posts with the same people. I even came to the point of not posting at some days. However, this is something I realized. I shouldn't be complaining. I don't want to act such with sense of entitlement. So I decided to continue answering even it won't get upvotes. Recently, I answered 10 questions again, and after a day nothing was curated. After two days, most of my answers were curated, and that made me grateful.
You fail to understand something, you are not entitled to upvotes, Neither am I or any user on this platform. If aren't upvoted after putting all your effort into answer just know that the curators weren't satisfied with it to give it an upvote.
It's very discouraging trust me I know and it will keep happening you just need to get used to it and keep posting and I'm sure that you'll get upvoted very soon.
I just feel that probably the team has not seen it.
Very bad ... a natural feeling buddy, not only on musing but wherever and in whatever task you put a lot of efforts to/in, you'd feel bad if not appreciated.
