What is the advantage of sugar in the body?

We have both advantages and disadvantages for what we know as sugar, table sugar or refined sugar, which is biologically known as '' Sucrose ''.

Its composition is both an advantage and a disadvantage (the latter only when consumed in excess, as everything in life).

Sucrose is composed of two simple carbohydrates, a molecule of glucose linked to a molecule of fructose.

Glucose is the one that represents the essential advantage for the organism and is due to its caloric contribution, or energy contribution. Carbohydrates are the main source of calories for the body to use immediately, that is, it is our contribution of immediate energy (there are other contributions such as fats, but these are stored and are only used when depleting glucose reserves). Complex carbohydrates are divided into simple carbohydrates and those with glucose pass through a catabolic process called glycolysis (glucose breakdown) which generates pyruvate and ATP (energy).

Even glucose is an essential compound for our brain since unlike the rest of the cells of the body that obtain energy from various compounds; The nerve cells (neurons) in our brain depend solely on glucose as an energy source. Without it the neurons die and the brain collapses. That's why you have to be careful with the hypoglycemia pictures (to which the body adapts by storing a limited supply of sugar).

This is why another advantage of refined sugar is being able to attack the hypoglycemia frames, returning blood levels to normal (from a low level to a stable level).

Of course, sugar is not essential for the body or to produce glucose since in the liver it produces glucose from fats, glycerol, among others; by gluconeogenesis (glucose formation). Ketone bodies are also produced here which are used when normal glucose levels are over.

Now, before I mentioned that sacarose was a problem in high quantities, right? This is because fructose is only stored in the liver. It means that in high concentrations there will be an excess in the liver and this is stored in the form of fat; thus producing fatty liver syndrome, from here can lead to major problems such as insulin resistance, diabetes and heart problems.

Sugar deserves to be blamed as a cause of many health problems. Excessive consumption of sugar will make the body experience increased sugar levels, and many other health problems. On the other hand, the body will not function properly without sugar. What is the importance of sugar for the body? Let's find out!

1. Providing Direct Energy

Sucrose or table sugar is the sugar most often used in everyday life. Table sugar consists of fructose and glucose which is the main source of energy in the body. Your body cannot absorb two sugars simultaneously, so an enzyme is needed to break down sucrose into fructose and glucose. After fructose and glucose are broken, they will be transported to the liver to be processed and then distributed throughout the body. The hormone insulin will help absorb glucose into cells, where glucose will be converted into energy that is immediately used by the body.

2. Low blood pressure

Sugar turns out to be very well consumed by people with low blood pressure. When blood pressure starts to fall, sugar will make the blood return to its initial position and will keep it stable. The most suitable sugar consumed by people with low blood sugar is rock sugar.

3. Complex Sugar

The American Heart Association and other health organizations say that most of the sugar that enters your body comes in the form of complex carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates are found in beans, starchy vegetables such as corn, bread, and cereals. Complex carbohydrates require a long time to be processed by the body so that blood sugar remains stable and provides energy reserves.

Actually, when you are on a diet you are allowed to consume sugar. But many diet and health experts warn that excessive sugar consumption will cause serious health problems for your body. Excessive sugar intake will interfere with diet, and make you overeat, causing obesity.

To reduce this risk, enjoy food with enough sugar or replace it with complex sugars to keep the body healthy.

There is a prominent idea that sugar is terrible for you, anyway this is false, whenever taken with some restraint. Here's a piece from our Product Catalog on the shifted advantages of sugar:

Unadulterated sugar contains molasses which is required by the body to work fittingly. The glycolic corrosive present in sugar is extremely useful in keeping up the wellbeing and appearance of skin and can help with wiping out flaws and reestablishing skins oil balance. Besides, the common fixings in sugar are all the more effortlessly handled by our bodies' digestion systems, particularly livers, than the high fructose syrups many use to substitute sugar.

Glucose is a non essential nutrient. Which means our body does not need it nutritionally.

It will produce the little it needs by different processes to its disposal.

If you strictly talk about benefits and not to even take the consequences in to consideration.

Then there is an obvious advantage to sugar. The taste! Its tastes amazing to us for a simple reason as well. It is high in energy and highly addictive.

So if you want to live like a glutton then sugar binges has only benifits.

The effects are life threatening. Including diabetes and I won't go into others as that was not your question.

in my opinion, sugar has good benefits for the body. which functions to increase energy in the body. without consuming foods containing sugar the body has no energy. but if someone consumes sugar excessively, the high risk of diabetes is getting closer. therefore, one must consume only enough sugar.
