Sodas , usually contain sugars solution , colours and carbon( IV) oxide as preservative!!
Sugars in the sodas , as in most other Staples like rice and pastas are natural sources of energy to animals and humans. But whenever the use of this carbs is less than its rate of consumption it leads to accumulation of excess sugars in the blood and or in tissues of the organism.
Regular consumption of sodas , rich in carbs, without commensurate exercise would precipitate accumulation of fats in tissues and excess sugar in the blood. These are precursor to several diseases like diabetes and obesity., which are gateway to other diseases like high blood pressure, cartaract , general debility etc.
Thus consumption of sodas should be moderated or exercise beefed up to exhaust the regular intake occasioned by its consumption!!

Diabetes and obesity would be the two biggest ones that I can think of off the top of my head. In addition to those you are probably going to be dealing with some form of tooth decay. My dentist has a chart in his office that shows the acid and base makeup of many different sodas. There are some sodas that are pretty close to the same rating as battery acid for your teeth. It is pretty scary.
I stopped drinking soda regularly quite some time ago and the immediate benefits I noticed were a reduction in my weight. It was huge game changer taking that out of my regular diet. Now when I try to drink soda I often have a hard time because it hurts my teeth and my stomach. It is very rare that I drink more than a quarter of my soft drink when I get one. Usually most of the time I will decline or get an alternative like water or iced tea.
Additionally, the sugar content in many of these soda drinks can impact your blood sugar and cause you to be diabetic. That is something that is impacting more and more Americans every year and it can lead to other serious health complications. For the most part it is best to just avoid soda as much as possible.
