One thing that you need to understand about savings is that you don't have to save something big once in a while but something small and affordable at regular intervals.
First, you need to be realistic with your target savings and then cultivate the habit of saving first before any other expenses. Each time I get my monthly salary, I have a fixed amount that goes into savings and this amount is sacrosanct - it comes first before every other thing. I have already cut off the monthly savings amount from my income and always base my expenses on the remaining. With this, I have been able to consistently save up stipends every month.
I would not have been able to do this if I just daydream about saving a large chunk of money within a short period. The secret is to be slow, be steady and be realistic with your target. Don't go all broke trying to save up you income or trying to meet an audacious target. Live in the present and make attempts to save for the future.
Saving is a good habit and everyone should try to save from his/ her earnings.
In saving we have to plan or budget our expenses.
Budgeting is very important because without budget I can’t save anything.
Determine the target of saving and plan your expenses accordingly.
Save form your earning not what is left after spending.
List down the expense you want to make during the month with estimated amounts.
Check your list and reassess if you really need these things to buy.
When you go for shopping make a list of things you need to buy and then restrict to that list.
Leave some amount for contingencies.
@Golddeejay, In my opinion, first of all we have to understand and know our needs and can make a list of it. And when you understand your needs then for sure the unnecessary aspects will be removed and you can easily analyse how much you are spending and how much you have with left budget, if you have left budget then you can save it.
Wishing you an great day and stay blessed. 🙂
