There has been mild inflammation from time to time in the United States; but in recent economic history, there has never been any HYPERINFLATION.!!
What could be assumed close to Hyperinflation occurred between 1860--1865 during the era of Civil Wars among the States as some desired toz and be granted autonomy!! The efforts geared by the federal authority to quell rebellion drained much of the nation's resources which aught to be deployed for developmental and productive purposes!
As, few goods were produced in the midst of armament spendings; much money was chasing little goods resulting into mild Hyperinflation of 1860--1865.
But subsequently, the opposite of Hyperinflation, being Depression is much more common.
