Off course, think of solar panels for example. They don't need water to generate electricity.

Nucleair power plants on the other hand do need water indirectly. Not to generate the electricity itself but to cool down the nucleair reactor. And also as a buffer against radiation.

There are n-number of ways to generate electricity to power our homes and industries. I think as mentioned by @Niel96 youtube would be the great place to start your research for alternative every solution apart from HYDRO energy. Beware of those closing free energy video, most of them are fake and not existent.
