Overview

Musing is a platform for decentralized online communities. Each community has its own token and users can earn crypto when they share content. When you hold community tokens, you get access to exclusive content within that community amongst other benefits. These are not ordinary communities, because they each have their own independent economies. Musing aligns with the current narratives in crypto which are oriented around tokenized communities, which can also explain the popularity of memecoins.

Community Tokens

We use bonding curve tokens as the foundation for our community coins. All tokens are purchasable with AVAX. When you purchase community tokens, the community tokens are minted, the price (in AVAX) gets increased according to a linear curve, and your AVAX gets locked up in a contract, which acts like a liquidity pool, backing the value of your community token. When you sell, the community tokens are burned and you receive AVAX according to the current price.

These community tokens are not just symbols of value. Rather, they actually serve a purpose in helping the community to thrive. There is a transaction fee every time someone buys/sells a community token. These transaction fees go to a reward pool which is distributed to users who received upvotes and views on their posts. Thus, you can see how transaction fees act as a source of revenue for the community, which helps fund content and other activities, which bring new eyes to the community helping it to accumulate more buyers. Currently, rewards are distributed by the Musing team, but there is work in progress to allow communities to have greater control over distribution.

Community tokens can be airdropped as well. We allow users to set custom parameters on their community tokens to control initial price, max supply, and token creator allocation, to help with airdropping.

Memecoins

Musing is the perfect platform to host memecoins. If you think about it, a memecoin is really just a community of people gathering around a currency that symbolizes some culture. Musing improves on platforms like pump.fun by providing actual utility and a way for people within the community to share entertaining and interesting content, based around a shared meme identity.

We provide a page specifically for memecoins, which are really just regular Musing communities, that appear within the memecoins list in a live view where you can see the coins currently being traded rising to the top.
